Red, White and Blue Father's Day Card for Color Dare #148

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog post!  This week's challenge colors are Cranberry, Outdoor Denim and White Daisy.  I imagine that many of you will make patriotic themed cards but I needed to make a Father's Day card last week and combined that with this week's challenge.

This card was really easy to make using Close To My Heart's Artfully Sent cartridge!  This Z-fold card is on page 40 of the Artfully Sent booklet and featured mustaches instead of stars.  In Design Space I changed the card to eliminate the mustaches by first "ungrouping" the base card and then clicking on each mustache and clicking on "hide contour".

Here is a photo of the card partially open:

      Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge
      White Daisy CS
      Cranberry CS
      Outdoor Denim CS
      Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel (retired)

Other products:
     Star hole punches

I'm also entering this card into Heart 2 Heart's "Man Oh Man" challenge.

Here is the color graphic we would like you to include with your Color Dare entry this week.  You have until Thursday, July 3 at 9PM CT to link up your papercrafted item here.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Anything Goes for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #254!

Welcome back to another Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog post!  This fortnight it is "Anything Goes" so I decided to use leftovers from a previous project to make a card.

Close to My Heart products used:
Artbooking Cricut Cartridge (overlay page 52)
     Jubilee paper (retired)
     Pacifica CS
     Lots of Love stamp set
     Pacifica Ink
     Paradise Bakers Twine Assortment (retired)
     3D Foam Tape

Here is the first card I made with the Artbooking overlay cut:

The Jubilee paper has a different print on each side (and I didn't want to waste any of it) so I applied CTMH Bonding Memories glue to the leftover pieces (yellow side) and then pressed down with a Pacifica CS base to make the second card.

We hope you will find time this week to make something with one of your cricut cartridges and link it up to us at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  We are being sponsored by Verve Stamps this time and one randomly drawn winner will win a $25 gift certificate to the Verve store!  It could be you!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Watercolor Fun for Use Your Stash Blog Hop

It's time for our monthly Use Your Stash Blog Hop!  We are a group of Close to My Heart consultants who are trying to use up some of our craft supplies.  If you are coming from Marilee Eatough's blog you are on the right track.

(If you get lost along the way you can go back to Paige Dolecki's blog for the entire lineup of blogs).

I followed Freshly Made Sketch #191 to make this card:

First I wet the watercolor paper with water.  I placed acrylic blocks onto the Grey Wool and Golden Ember stamp pads and spritzed with water for my "paint".  I used a heat tool to dry the panel before I inked up the embossing folder with Topiary ink and then pressed the folder closed with the watercolor paper inside.  Last I stamped Happy Father's Day in Black ink and then again with Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder.  (This is so easy to do with the MISTI stamp tool!)

Close to My Heart products used:
     Golden Ember Ink (retired)
     Grey Wool Ink (retired)
     Topiary Ink
     Grey Wool CS (retired)
     White Daisy CS
Just to Say... stamp from Artfully Sent Cricut Collection
     Versamark Ink
     Clear Embossing Powder

Other products:
     Strathmore Cold Press Watercolor paper
     Cuttlebug Diamond Plate embossing folder

Challenges:
Heart2Heart--Man O Man  -- anything to do with men
Cardz for Guys -- Father's Day Theme
Please head on over to see what Shirley Ross has to inspire you.

Our goal is to create a project with a favorite "character".  A character can be -- a number, a letter, a persons personality, etc., so we are showcasing what our interpretations of a what a character is.

Who doesn't love Santa?  I found him in the Winter Frolic cartridge (also in the Ultimate Creative Sampler cartridge) and paired him with a sentiment from Close to My Heart Artiste cartridge.

Since I'm also a Close to My Heart consultant most of my projects will feature CTMH products.

Close to My Heart products used:
Artiste Cricut cartridge (Ho Ho Ho)
     White Daisy CS
     Black CS
     Jingle paper (retired)
     Red Shimmer Trim
     Ruby CS
     3D Foam Tape

Other products:
Fresh Snow Glitter paper by Colorbok

I used this Sunday Stamps Sketch #102 for my card layout:

My title did mention Blog Candy so here it is:
