Twofer Card Challenge#2--Hearts

There is a new card challenge out there!  Twofer Card Challenge requires participants to create two cards with the same stamp or die but with two different designs and for different occasions.  It sounded like fun so I created two cards to meet the challenge.  This fortnight the word prompt is "Hearts".  Here are my cards:

The die cut hearts were cut from Basic Shapes in Design Space.  The first card background was created with the new "Mermaid Lagoon" Distress Oxide Ink with a little bit of "Shaded Lilac" on the background panel.   The stamp is from the "Stronger Together" stamp set from Close to My Heart and was embossed with "Mulberry Star" embossing powder from Sparkle and Sprinkle.  The fuschia glitter paper is from Jot.

The card layout was inspired by the sketch at Just Add Ink #396:

My second card uses three Bazzill Regal Red hearts, Sapphire card stock, Happy Valentine's stamp, embossed Silver Delicata ink and Silver Shimmer Trim.

I'm also linking these cards up to the following challenges:
       Make My Monday--Messy Backgrounds
      Addicted to Stamps--Have a Heart
      Crafting from the Heart--Anything Goes
Use Your Stuff--Twinkle Twinkle (add sparkle)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Sympathy Card for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #320 With Freshly Made Sketch #324

Welcome back to another Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog post!  This fortnight our challenge is for you to use your Cricut machine to create a Sympathy card.  The FCCB Design Team is awarding one lucky participant a $25 Amazon gift card so please be sure to check out the details here.

The Cricut images used in my card are from the Calligraphy Collection cartridge which are the Cricut Free Cuts of the week.  Rather than cut the sympathy sentiment I used a Black Cricut pen to draw it and then colored it in.  The Smokey Plum papers are long retired from Close to My Heart. I used the same Black Cricut pen to outline the flourish and sentiment panel.  The shimmery white paper is Antique Gold by Recollections and the shimmery red heart is Cricut Red Pearl paper.  My Design Space file is being shared here.

Here is a close up view so you can see the lovely shimmer in those papers.

My creative process usually involves finding a sketch challenge to enter and this week is no different.  My inspiration came from this lovely Freshly Made Sketch #324:

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
International Art and Soul:  Use Something You Already             Have  (The patterned paper had a date on the backside that read       "CTMH 2002"!)
     Jo's Scrap Shack--Anything Goes

Challenge #320-Sympathy
Make a project about Sympathy, or loss of a loved one (human or animal)

The FCCB Design Team is sponsoring a $25 gift card at

Amazon!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Make Waves Paper Meets Sunny Thoughts Stamp for Color Dare #280

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog post!  This week we are challenging you to combine these three Close to My Heart colors:  Pixie, Pansy and Emerald.  Black and White Daisy are always FREE to use in our challenges but please do not add any new colors.  Of course, if you don't have these exclusive Close to My Heart colors yet you may substitute similar colors so you can still join in on the fun!

Months ago I seriously considered purchasing a Quilt Block Die from Stampin' Up.  It was pricey and I reluctantly talked myself out of the purchase.  Quilting is also another craft passion of mine so I decided that I could create a similar look in Cricut's Design Space and I did just that.

Although it is not quite "perfect" I am very pleased with how it came out with these fabulous bright and cheery colors.  Now that I have it in my Design Space files I can replicate, resize and reproduce it in numerous color schemes. What fun I'm going to have with this file*!

      White Daisy CS
      Pixie CS
      Pansy CS
Make Waves Paper (purple and green prints)
Sunny Thoughts (sentiment and tiny pink flower)
limited time--February Stamp of the Month
      Ribbon Border Die
      Black Pigment Ink
      Clear Embossing Powder

Other product:
Waves Next Level Embossing folder by We R                     Memory Keepers

Here is the Color Dare challenge graphic.  Just click on it to see what the rest of the fabulous Design Team has to inspire you!  Our challenge is open until Thursday evening, March 1 at 9PM CT so you have almost two weeks to link up your creation in our gallery.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and commenting on your artwork.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
Hiding in My Scrap Room--Super Scraps
     Seize the Birthday--Option--Coffee or Tea
     Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper--Anything Goes
World Wide Open Design Team--Anything Goes
Simon Says Wednesday--Add a Die Cut
As You Like it Challenge--Favorite Way to Add a             Sentiment and Why (Stamping because I have             lots of sentiment stamps)

Sympathy Card With Case This Sketch #257

Card sketches are a great way to spark creativity and I knew that Case This Sketch #257 would make a lovely sympathy card.  The branches are from the Chelsea Gardens Stamp set by Close to My Heart along with Glacier card stock and Peacock card stock and Vellum.  I love the way these two bluish green papers look together!  The sentiment is from the Sincere Expressions stamp set (retired Close to My Heart) and was stamped in Versamark Ink and Peacock Ink and then clear embossed.
